Phutureprimitive to play Bottom Lounge Upstairs on October 17, 2014

Silver Wrapper presents Phutureprimitive with special guests Kaminanda and Clozee on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Bottom Lounge Upstairs.

Phutureprimitive is the moniker of Bay Area producer and songwriter Rain. Early childhood photos reveal Rain sitting at the piano plinking keys, grinning from ear to ear… a true sign of things to come. Continuing his early fascination, Rain was later drawn to electronic music, inspired by its ability to combine the best of organically played instruments and the synthetic pleasures of sounds more exotic to the human ear. After beginning a DJ career in the 90s, Rain began incorporating the music he was making in his home studio into his DJ sets. That was all it took to trigger a full blown love affair with electronic music and the process of its creation… and Phutureprimitive was born.

K.Flay to play Schubas on October 13, 2014 behind new album “Eyes Shut”

Silver Wrapper presents K.Flay with special guests Step Rockets and Night Riots on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Schubas.

The new K.Flay EP, Eyes Shut, is a response to apathy. Thematically, the disc’s five tracks offer a dialogue about what it means to care—and not care—in the twentysomething era. K.Flay, the moniker for San Francisco-based musician Kristine Flaherty, reacts to this generational indifference musically. Her spit-fire rhymes and distorted indie-electro production are infused with unabashed passion and thoughtful concern

The Houston MC owns the mike with a casual confidence, workmanlike in his delivery whether laidback or lyrical, embodying a new brand of enlightened Southern that’s as likely to tip back some lean on your front porch as sit down and school you on Dadaism. Silver Wrapper presents two shows featuring ODESZA with special guests Hayden James (Late Show) and Ambassadeurs (Both Shows) on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Bottom Lounge.

This isn’t EDM, yet it’s making everyone who hears it want to dance. At the same time, it’s making us want to throw on our headphones and soak it all in. It’s the balance of high energy and relaxation. This is ODESZA, a production duo out of Seattle, who quite honestly, sound exactly like what this self-proclaimed electronic music snob wanted out of the genre, instead of the bubble-gum “gutz-gutz” and robotsex sounds typical of electronic music today. ODESZA arrives with “tasteful electronic”, as member Clayton (Clay) Knight half-jokes.
